Polyester filament geotextiles (often referred to as geotextiles) are technical fabrics widely used in construction and geotechnical engineering. Here are the main advantages and applications:

Advantages of polyester filament geotextiles

  1. High tensile strength and dimensional stability

Polyester filaments provide very high strength with low elongation, making them ideal for applications with high loads.

  1. Low creep tendency

Unlike polypropylene or polyethylene, polyester fabrics show only minimal deformation under sustained load.

  1. Chemical resistance

Resistant to many chemical substances in the soil, especially acids and bases found in natural soils.

  1. Water and weather resistance

Polyester is hydrophobic and rot-proof, ensuring a long service life in the ground.

  1. UV stability

With appropriate treatment, geotextiles are also temporarily resistant to UV radiation. 2–4 weeks of UV tolerance is usually sufficient for the construction phase until covering.

  1. Easy handling

Roll material is easy to cut and install, even in large projects.

Typical applications

  1. Soil and slope reinforcement

For stabilizing slopes, embankments, and road subgrades, especially in soft or low-bearing soils.

  1. Separation and stabilization

Between different soil layers to prevent mixing and increase load-bearing capacity.

  1. Support in road and path construction

Under gravel or paving layers to distribute loads and prevent settlement.

  1. Reinforced earth structures

For retaining walls, noise barriers, and other geotechnical structures.

  1. Drainage function (in combination)

When combined with nonwoven fabrics, it can also drain water and provide filtration functions.
